Migration in Helm 4

There are 2 ways to perform migration in Helm:

1. Migrate hosting resources from remote box A to remote box B, both managed by Control Panel server C.

2. Migrate hosting resources and Control Panel from CP box A to new CP box B.

For option One, perform the following:

1) Go to the Helm Configuration Tool and add remote server B credentials to "Server Access List" on CP server C.
In Helm Configuration Tool add CP server C credentials to "Server Access List" on remote server B.

2) In Helm Control Panel on CP server, go to Home -> Helm System -> Servers and add a new remote server B
and add all services for server B.

3) Go to $Helm installation dir$\Helm4\Tools on CP server C and launch HelmBackupAndRestoreTool.exe

4) Choose the "Migrate From" field on the "Migrate" tab, choose server A name and the service you want to migrate
(in the "Items" field you can choose if you want to migrate all the items of the service or the selected ones only).
In the "Migrate To" field, choose server B name and the service to be migrated (services should be of the same type).

5) Click "Migrate".
Note: If you want to migrate more services, perform steps 4-5 for all the services you wish to migrate, as you can migrate only 1 service at a time.

6) Copy all content of the services to remote server B manually.

Migration is completed.

For Option two, perform the following:

1) Go to the Helm Configuration Tool on CP server B, add CP server A credentials to "Server Access List".
In Helm Configuration Tool on CP server A, add CP server B credentials to "Server Access List" .

2) In Helm Control Panel on CP server A, go to Home > Helm System > Servers and add server B and add all the services and resources for server B.

3) Go to $Helm installation dir$\Helm4\Tools on A server and launch HelmBackupAndRestoreTool.exe

4) Choose the "Migrate From" field on the "Migrate" tab and choose server A name and service you want to migrate
(in the "Items" field you can choose if you want to migrate all the items of the service or the selected ones only).
In the "Migrate To" field choose server B name and service to be migrated (services should be of the same type)

5) Click "Migrate".
Note: To migrate more services perform steps 4-5 for all the services you wish to migrate, as you can migrate only 1 service a time.

6) Copy all content of the services to CP server B manually.

7) Back up Helm database on the CP server A and restore it on CP server B.

8) Once all the resources were migrated on CP server B, you can remove server A from Home > Helm System > Servers and server A IP from Home > Helm System > IP Addresses in Helm Control Panel on CP server B.

Migration is completed.
